What’s in a custom cake?: Every Rad Joy cake is made with organic, Midwestern flour, locally-sourced or grown fruit (when available), and even herbs and flowers grown from my garden during growing months. I also make all my fillings (preserves, curds, caramels, meringues, etc.) from scratch with premium dairy and other special ingredients. My flavors are considered "creative” or “innovative”, so if you’re looking for something you can’t get in your every day bakery or cake studio, you’re in the right place.

I’m very sorry, but we do not offer wedding tastings at this time. Feel free to follow us on Instagram for cake slice/pastry box drops.

Design and artistry: It would be best to start by viewing my gallery or Instagram to get a sense of my artistry. I think of design as a creative collaboration between you and me, where you select me as the artist, and I bring your request to life through my specific design thinking. Note that I do not write on cakes, I do not reproduce other chef’s works, and I do not work with fondant.

Timing/availability: Books tend to fill up 3-4 weeks out, so I may not always be able to take on your request. With that being said, sometimes I can squeeze you in or provide you with alternate dates, so it’s always good to try your luck. Please check the header for available/unavailable dates.

Pick up and delivery: Radical Joy Bakery is a (mostly) one-person run creative culinary studio based out of my home in Humboldt Park, this is where your pick ups will happen. Tiered cake and large order deliveries, start at $50+. Single/small order deliveries within 5 miles of zip code 60622 are free. Delivery beyond 5 miles is subject to my discretion and will be calculated in your invoice if approved. Set up prices will depend upon complexity of request.

Pricing: Your $75 appointment deposit will apply towards the final cost of your order and ensures that you and I are both enthusiastic and committed to making this request come true. In the event that I am not able to take your request, your deposit will be refunded.

Custom orders start at $200+, not including tax. Additional costs may include ingredient availability, additional fillings, seasonality, size, design requests, set-up, delivery, etc. Serving sizes vary and are based on estimates for large to small servings.
